SIT formation ordered to probe Ghurdauri institute case

The State government has ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the complaints of illegal appointment and corruption, financial irregularities in the GB Pant Engineering and Technology Institute, Ghurdauri in Pauri. Additional secretary of Home department, Ridhim Agrawal in her letter to the Director General of Police stated that a case had been registered in Pauri Kotwali under sections 409, 477A. The DGP has been asked to constitute SIT to probe complaints of various irregularities in the institute. The SIT has to inform the government about progress in the probe every month. 

GB Pant Engineering and Technology Institute joint employee association president Bharat Singh Negi said that the association had met chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami during his Pauri visit and had informed him no order has given for SIT formation. The CM said that order had been given and showed the order on his mobile phone. It is pertinent to mention that The Pioneer had reported on the delay in formation of the SIT despite the CM ordering it. The day the report was published, the additional secretary issued the order to form the SIT on November 29.
