NEP-2020 to impart job oriented education: Dhami

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 would help in imparting job oriented education to the students and they would not have to prepare separately for the competitive examinations. He was addressing the annual function of the Shiksha Bharti Adarsh School in Khatima on Saturday.

 The CM said that the NEP-2020 would also encourage research and development and prove effective in making the country a developed nation. He said that the skill development at school level would help in making the youngsters skilled. He said that Uttarakhand is the first State in the country to have implemented the NEP in school education.

The CM said that in our culture education does not only mean in attaining bookish knowledge. Education is such a journey in which one finds his existence. It is an important element in all round development of the student, he said. The CM said that the character of a person is built by the education and virtues one receives during childhood.

“ We should work today to shape our future. It is a matter of great happiness that the future is being shaped in this school which will act as the foundation of  excellent Uttarakhand and New India,’’ he said. The CM averred that construction of New India is taking place under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dhami said that the State government has taken a commitment to make Uttarakhand one of the leading States of the country by the year 2025.

 The manager of the school Bhaskar Joshi said that the school gave Board toppers from the years 2015 to 2019 and in the year 2022 and a large number of students in NEET, IIT and NDA examinations are also selected from the school every year.

 The district magistrate of Udham Singh Nagar Yugal Kishore Pant, senior superintendent of police Manjunath TC and others were present on the occasion.
