Covid cases continue to increase in U’khand

59 new cases in one day, Doon has 103 active cases of the disease

Amid spurt being witnessed in the cases of Covid-19 in different parts of the country the number of patients in Uttarakhand is also increasing. On Thursday the state health department reported 59 new patients of the disease. After many months the number of active cases in provisional state capital Dehradun has scaled past the 100 figure mark.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,44,940 while a total of 3,31,059  patients have recovered from the disease so far. A total of  7417 people have died in the state so far. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 95.98 per cent while the sample positivity rate on Thursday was 0.35 per cent.

 The state health department reported 25 new patients from Dehradun, 12 from Nainital, nine from Udham Singh Nagar, seven from Haridwar, two each from Bageshwar and Pithoragarh and one each from Chamoli and Uttarkashi on Thursday.

No new cases were found in the remaining five districts on the day.  The state now has 255 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 103 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Nainital has 62 active cases of the disease. Rudraprayag has no active cases of the disease now.  In the ongoing vaccination drive, 49,130 people were vaccinated in 785 sessions in the state held on Thursday.
