Demands CBI probe & withdrawal of cases on the unemployed involved in the agitation

Demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the paper leak cases and withdrawal of cases on the unemployed, the Uttarakhand Youth Congress organised a protest march in Dehradun on Tuesday. On the day a large number of workers of the Youth Congress assembled at the Rajiv Bhawan, the headquarters of the State Congress. From here the workers started a march to the residence of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. A big contingent of police force stopped the  Youth Congress workers near Hathibadkala. Some workers also tried to scale the barricades put up by the Police. The leaders and workers of the Youth Congress were detained by the Police and taken to the Police lines.

 Earlier in the day the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara, former chief minister Harish Rawat, former PCC presidents Pritam Singh, Ganesh Godiyal, deputy leader of the Congress legislature party Bhuwan Kapdi, Shoorveer Singh Sajwan and Hira Singh Bisht addressed the youth Congress workers. These leaders said that the State government has failed on all fronts and is now registering cases on the unemployed youths who were demanding CBI investigation in the paper leak cases.

 The vice president of the Youth Congress Vineet Prasad Bhatt said that the Youth Congress would continue to fight against the corrupt and dictatorial government of Uttarakhand till it accepts the demands of the unemployed.

 Vice president Mohan Bhandari said that the government wants to scare the youth by registering cases on them. He said that the youngsters would give a fitting reply to the repressive measures of the State government during the upcoming budget session of the assembly at Gairsain. Student leaders Rakesh Negi, Ritesh Chettri, Sonu Hasan, Shayam Singh Chauhan, Robin Tyagi, Shiva Verma and others were present on the occasion.
