The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has pasted a notice outside Rapido’s office in Dehradun for allegedly running its taxi and two-wheeler services without getting an aggregator license from the State government. The regional transport officer (administration) of the Dehradun division Sunil Sharma said that the Rapido company does not have a licence to operate as a bike and auto rickshaw aggregator as per the rules but despite that, it has been operating for months blatantly.

Considering this, the RTO has sought clarification from the company officials on the matter by pasting a notice outside their office, said Sharma. He said that the RTO has ordered the representatives of Rapido company to appear in the RTO office on December 29 along with all the documents that potentially claim that the government had issued a license allowing them to operate as a bike and auto rickshaw aggregator.

The RTO has also warned the company officials of filing a case against them if they continue the illegal operation of their vehicles in Dehradun, added the RTO. He said that RTO has initially asked the representative of Rapido to be present in the transport office to clear its side on the matter but none of the employees came. He also said that senior officials of the department have been informed regarding the matter and appropriate action will be taken as per the law if Rapido fails to comply with the rules.
