In latest news from Uttarakhand, the regional meteorological centre flagged orange alert for three districts-Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh- for March 2, forecasting heavy snowfall in areas above 3000 m and thunderstorm/hail in others areas. The director of the Met office Vikram Singh said that the State would experience overcast condition with possibility of snowfall in high altitude areas and rain activity with hail and lightning since February 27 until March 2.
