Raju Boxer murder case: Four accused nabbed within 24 hours of murder

The Dehradun police have caught four accused within 24 hours of a property dealer being shot dead in the Ajabpur area of Dehradun. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police (SSP) Yogendra Singh Rawat informed the media that Nehru Colony police station received information at about 10:15 PM on Wednesday that two persons had shot dead a person named Rajendra Pundir alias Raju Boxer on Mata Mandir Road in Ajabpur. Police officers including the SSP reached the site to seek information about the crime. Eye witnesses told the police that two persons on a scootey had committed the crime and escaped from the scene. Based on the complaint lodged by Archana Pundir, the SSP formed various teams under the direction of superintendent of police (City) Sarita Dobhal and Nehru Colony circle officer (CO) Pallavi Tyagi. The name of Vinay Kamboj emerged in the police investigations along with information about the murder victim having a property dispute with a person named Shavez Khan who was a friend of Kamboj. The police managed to detain Khan for questioning and when the police showed strictness, he confessed his involvement in the case. He said that he had planned to murder Pundir with the help of his friends Vinay Kamboj, Aniket Kamboj and Farid Khan for which he had rented two pistols. Shavez said that on Wednesday, when Pundir came to his plot in Ajabpur, his accomplices shot him and escaped. After arresting the questioning Shavez further, the police arrested another accused Farid from his home in Mothrowala. Continuing their search for the two other accused Vinay Kamboj and Aniket Kamboj, the police arrested them from near ISBT on Thursday. The police recovered the two pistols used in the crime along with live cartridges from the duo. Shavez told the police that he was involved in property dealing with Pundir in partnership. Pundir used to come to Shavez’s plot often to drink liquor and since they were having a dispute for sometime regarding property and financial dealings, Shavez conspired to eliminate him and take over the property.

The SSP has announced a cash reward of Rs 2,500 for the police team which solved the case.
