Rain/hail warning for U’khand, pilgrimage may be affected

In breaking Uttarakhand news, rain and hail forecast by the weather department in several districts of the State may adversely impact the progress of the Char Dham Yatra.

As per the Meteorological department’s forecast, rain and hail may lash the high-altitude regions of Uttarakhand. Besides, rain and thunderstorm may also hit the plain areas of the State. The Met department has issued orange alert and warned that gusty winds with speed of 70 km per hour may whip through districts like Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Almora and Pithoragarh. Besides, these districts may experience light to moderate rainfall. Importantly, the Met department has issued yellow alert for mountain areas of the State from May 29 to June 1.

The weather forecast indicates that the change in the weather may adversely impact the progress of the Char Dham Yatra.
