Rain and snowfall forecast at many places in State today

The State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of heavy snowfall at places in four districts. Further, thunderstorms accompanied with hail/intense showers are likely in parts of seven districts today. Apart from this light to moderate rain/snowfall/thunderstorm is likely to occur at many places in Uttarakhand. Snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 2,200 metres and above.

The meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of heavy snowfall likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Dehradun, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts on Wednesday. Thunderstorms accompanied with hail/ lightning/ intense showers are likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness partly to generally cloudy skies with light rain/ thunderstorm accompanied with hail/ lightning also likely to occur. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 22 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 23.4 degrees Celsius and 9.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 20.5 degrees Celsius and 13.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, eight degrees Celsius and 1.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 13.8 degrees Celsius and 5.9 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Light rain was also recorded in various parts of the State with 12.5 millimetres in Satpuli, 4.5 millimetres each in Kotdwar and Thalisain and 3.5 millimetres each in Lansdowne and Raiwala.
