PWD expedites Smart City works on CM’s instructions

MLA assures citizens of improvement in road quality in Doon

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had directed officials to expedite the construction works being executed under the Dehradun Smart City project. Any compromise with the quality of the works will not be tolerated, he had warned. Following the stern approach of the CM, the Public Works Department picked up the pace of its works in mission mode. The Rajpur Road MLA Khajan Das conducted site inspections of various construction work sites in the city on Monday and thanked the CM for the better pace of work. He said that work has been started on improving the condition of roads.

It will be recalled that taking cognisance of complaints being received from public representatives about the poor pace and quality of work under the Smart City project, the CM had withdrawn work from the executing agency and handed it over to the PWD. According priority to the improvement of roads, the department has started work on the same. MLA Das inspected the status of work at Lansdowne Chowk, Nany’s Chowk and other sites along with officials concerned. He also met the CM at the secretariat and thanked him for bringing about change in the pace of work execution. He assured the people that soon they will witness an improvement in the quality of roads in the city. Dehradun Smart City Limited AGM Jagmohan Singh Chauhan, PWD executive engineer DC Nautiyal and other officials were also present on the occasion.
