Properties of Waqf board to be freed from clutches of Dumpy: Shams

The board has registered FIR on former MP for illegal possession of 28 acres in Nainital district

The chairman of Uttarakhand Waqf board Shadab Shams has said that more properties of the  board would be freed from the illegal possession of Akbar Ahmad Dumpy. The Waqf board has registered cases under different sections of Indian Penal Code against the former Member of Parliament and strongman Dumpy and seven others for illegal encroachment on 28 acres of land in Ramgarh of Nainital district. The property is valued at about Rs 100 crore. Shams told The Pioneer that apart from illegal possession of Waqf property Dumpy used forgery to get the land registered in his name. He said that the police would now take action against Dumpy, who is a mafia. Shams claimed that there are more properties of the board at Ranikhet in Almora district which are under illegal possession of Dumpy. He claimed that the board would get all its property back from the illegal encroachers.
