Covid count mounts to 78509 in U’khand

10 deaths, 471 new cases of the disease reported on Monday

The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Uttarakhand increased to 78509 on Monday with the state health department reporting 512 cases of the disease.  The death toll from the disease also mounted to 1265 on the day as the death of ten patients from Covid-19 was reported. The department discharged 471 patients of the disease after their recovery on the day. A total of 71105 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery percentage from the disease now stands at 90.57 and the sample positivity rate is 5.46 percent. 

Six patients of the disease were reported dead at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun Monday. Two Covid-19 patients succumbed to the disease at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun while one patient each was reported dead from Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on the day.

The contagion of the disease is showing no signs of slowing down in the provisional state capital Dehradun. The authorities reported 229 fresh cases of the disease here on Monday. Haridwar reported 60, Nainital 53, Chamoli 37, Pauri 25, Tehri 20, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi 19 each, Almora 18, Pithoragarh 15, Rudraprayag four and Bageshwar one case of Covid-19 on Monday.

  The state now has 5234 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is maintaining its top position in the table of active cases with 1738 cases while with 505 active cases, Haridwar is at second spot.  Nainital is at third position with 486 active cases, Pauri has 393, Chamoli 370, Pithoragarh 340, Almora 289, Tehri 278,  Udham Singh Nagar 257, Uttarkashi 176, Champawat 165 and Bageshwar 152 active cases of the disease. With only 85 active cases of Covid-19, Rudraprayag now is at the bottom of the table.
