Four scantily clad youth seen drinking & smoking with car parked along main road in Haridwar at night
Despite the State police taking action against persons involving in rowdy acts and intoxication in public areas, some are evidently still not learning. The latest incident has come to light in Haridwar city where four youth were seen drinking and smoking on a road at night while scantily clad. The actions of the four youth were captured on video by some locals and the clip went viral on social media. The police are now trying to identify and trace the youth.
Haridwar is known across the nation and abroad as an important pilgrimage centre where people visit for religious and spiritual purposes. However, some persons are known to act irresponsibly in a manner which is seldom seen in civilised society. The video clip of four youth seen purportedly drinking and smoking alongside their parked car on a main road has elicited strong criticism. According to sources, the video was shot near the flyover near Sinh Dwar. It is being stated that there is a police booth near the purported scene of the incident but the youth appear to carry on their activities without any fear of the authorities while dressed in their undergarments. After the video went viral on social media, the locals are also questioning the efficiency of patrolling by the police in the city.
Superintendent of police (City) Swantantra Kumar said that the incident came to light after the video came out in the public. He said that it appears in the video that four drunk youth were parked along the highway at about midnight while indulging in the activities. “We are looking into this matter. We will identify the car license plate number and will take necessary action against the persons concerned,” said the SP.
