Police gear up for President’s security in Dehradun

The additional director general (ADG) of police AP Anshuman conducted a briefing session on Monday to ensure high level of security, law and order during the two-day visit of President Droupadi Murmu in Dehradun district. He, along with the inspector general of police of Garhwal range Karan Singh Nagnyal and Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh reviewed the security arrangements and later briefed the police force deployed for the security arrangements on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Anshuman said that a large number of police forces have been deployed in the security arrangements of Murmu and all must carry out their respective duties efficiently while following all VVIP security norms as per the rules. All officials and personnel deployed in the security must reach their respective designated places at least two hours prior to the President’s scheduled arrival. He directed them to conduct intensive checking in Jolly Grant and nearby places and around the main event venue using a dog squad. The traffic police must ensure the smooth movement of traffic of the VVIP fleet on these two days. The department will not tolerate any kind of negligence in duty at any level, the ADG added.
