Covid-19; 77 new cases, 104 recoveries in U’khand on Wednesday

No death from the disease reported on the day

The state health department reported 77 new cases of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 104 recoveries from the disease on Wednesday. On a positive note, death of no patient from the disease was reported on the day.  

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state has now increased to 3,40,959 while a total of 3,26,147 patients have so far recovered from the disease. In the state 7338 people have so far lost their lives to Covid -19. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.66 and the sample positivity rate is at 5.98 per cent in the state. The authorities collected 27,697 samples in different parts of the state on Wednesday.

The department reported 14 new patients from Dehradun, 13 from Haridwar, ten each from Nainital and Rudraprayag, nine from Pithoragarh, five from Udham Singh Nagar, four from Chamoli, three each from Champawat and Pauri, two each from Almora and Tehri and one each from Bageshwar and Uttarkashi on the day.

 The state now has 1,506 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 549 cases while Bageshwar is in the second position with 154 active cases. Nainital has 128, Pithoragarh 125, Pauri 120,  Chamoli 93, Champawat 91, Uttarkashi 60, Rudraprayag 47, Tehri 41, Udham Singh Nagar 39, Haridwar 30 and Almora 29 active cases of the disease. 

The state reported only one case of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) and one death from it on Wednesday. A total of 510 patients of the disease have so far been reported in the state out of which 102 have died.

 In the ongoing vaccination drive, the health department vaccinated 46,159 people in 457 sessions held on Wednesday.  A total of 9,55,985 people have been fully vaccinated so far in the state while 38,39,492 have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.
