Patwari paper leak: Congress, AAP hold protest at UkPSC

The Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held vehement protests outside the premises of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UkPSC) on Friday. Registering their strong protest on the Patwari examination paper leak case, the Congress leaders demanded a CBI probe while the AAP demanded that a committee under the chairmanship of a High Court judge should be constituted in the case. 

Congress deputy leader in State assembly, Bhuwan Kapdi said that he had raised the issue of corruption in the Public Service Commission the assembly session but the government paid no heed to it. “Now after four days of Patwari examinations, the government is accepting that the paper has been leaked. We also suspect that there is corruption in other papers also.’’ 

The Youth Congress State  President Sumitar Bhullar said that the Public Service Commission and the Government of Uttarakhand are not able to conduct any examination on time and when any examination is held, it is known afterwards that the paper has been leaked.  “This is tarnishing the image of Uttarakhand in the country. Our demand is that all the previous examinations conducted in the Public Service Commission should be investigated by the CBI and till then all further examinations should be cancelled.’’ 

Addressing the protest of AAP, the State convener Jot Singh Bisht said that the government has not acted responsibly in the issue. He said that the accused know that they will get bail after going to jail.  “We demand that a committee should be formed under the chairmanship of a high court judge to investigate this matter,’’ he said. 

In view of this protest by Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, strict security arrangements were also made by Haridwar Police in and around the UkPSC premises.
