Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has sought the status report of the roads freed of potholes in the State within a week from the officers. He gave the order while chairing a review meeting of some of the important infrastructure projects of the State at secretariat on Tuesday. Averring that the safe and accessible journey is the right of the people, he said that the government’s priority is to take care of the facilities of the people.

Seeking the status report, Dhami said that it should have information about the work done till date to make the roads free from potholes, roads repaired and the pending works.  On a stern note he directed that the department concerned should complete the task of repairing the roads and making them free from potholes at the earliest. He added that special focus should be on maintaining the quality in the repair works and that he should not receive any complaint on these works.

In the meeting the CM interacted with the officials concerned regarding the Haridwar special corridor, operation of the Pithoragarh airport, Manaskhand corridor, Ramnagar- Ranikhet road and the development works in the Maa Purnagiri temple.

He said that the Manaskhand corridor and the developmental projects of the Haridwar special corridor should be expedited. The officers told the CM that the 29 temples of Kumaon region including Goljyu Devta, Patal Bhuveneshwar, Kot Brahmari and Kainchi Dham have been earmarked under the Manaskhand corridor. They claimed that facilities like road connectivity, ropeway system and other facilities for tourists are being strengthened for the Manaskhand corridor project. The CM said that the development works going on in the Purnagiri Dham should be completed at a fast pace. He added that all the necessary facilities for the pilgrims should be strengthened.
