Uttarakhand has been placed at second position after Goa in financial management and good governance among the small states of the country in the ranking released by a website of a renowned business newspaper.
The State government enlists the achievement as a proof of its strong financial management, transparent administration and development oriented policies. The report suggests that Uttarakhand has performed remarkably well in controlling its fiscal deficit, augmenting its revenue and management of government guarantees. It also points out that good investment in health, education and other social sectors have helped the State in getting a good rank.
Apart from the financial management, the State has caught attention in good governance. It has tried to strengthen digital and e- services and provided a better environment for the investors.
Expressing happiness, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the second rank of the State among small states reflects policies and hard work of the State government and the faith of the people. He said that priority was accorded to education, health services, digital services and judicial services. Dhami said that the State government is committed to make Uttarakhand one of the leading states of the country under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Our target is to make Uttarakhand a State where quality services and opportunities are available to every citizen. This achievement is one step forward in the direction of a bright future of the State,’’ he said.
