About 10 lakh has been reportedly stolen from the office of noted businessman UC Jain in Haridwar. The police have registered a case against the unknown thief. The police suspect that some member of Jain’s staff may have carried out the theft.

According to Jwalapur Kotwali police, Wisdom Global School director UC Jain filed a report on Thursday about theft in his office. He stated in his report that he had gone home from the office on Wednesday night.  He had kept Rs 10 lakh in cash in his office drawer, but when he reached the school on Thursday afternoon and opened the drawer in his office, the cash was missing.

Considering the manner of theft it appears that the thief knew that the window of the office was open and Rs 10 lakh in cash had been kept in the drawer.  No CCTV camera of any kind has been installed in Jain’s office which has created a gap.

The Jwalapur police station in-charge RK Saklani reached the spot and inspected the scene.Saklani said that the theft was reported by the school management on Thursday afternoon after which the police inspected the scene of crime.  The lock of the drawer in which the money is said to have been kept was neither broken nor the glass or lock of the window was broken. The thief is suspected to have entered the room by the window. There may be connivance of some staff members in this theft.  A case has been registered against the unknown thief and now the search for the thief has been started, said the police.
