Cold wave conditions likely in parts of plains today

After brief relief of a few degrees Celsius from the cold, parts of the plains are once again set to experience cold day conditions. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the likelihood of cold day conditions prevailing at a few places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Monday. The meteorological centre has also issued a warning regarding the possibility of dense to very dense fog likely to occur in many parts of the plains especially in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts today.  In addition to this, very light to light rain/snowfall is also likely to occur at isolated places in the higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts on Monday while dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 25 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Monday.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 24.4 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 11.2 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18.7 degrees Celsius and 6.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 20 degrees Celsius and 7.6 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
