About a dozen armed men looted goods worth lakhs of rupees after locking four security guards in the guard room at an aluminimum goods manufacting factory under the SIIDCUL police station area late on Saturday night. The Haridwar senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh has reverted the police station officer Pramod Uniyal and the night officer Baru Chauhan to the police lines for negligence.

An aluminium products manufacturing company in the Salempur Mehdood area was purchased by a company in May last year. The factory had not resumed operations yet but goods worth lakhs of rupees are kept inside. Four security personnel Amit, Manish, Padam and Surendra were posted in the factory on Saturday night with two each at the main gate and the back gate. At about 1 AM on Sunday, about 14 masked men with weapons and iron rods entered the factory. They attacked the security personnel who attempted to stop them.  All four were locked in the guard room and their hands and feet were tied with rope. After this, the intruders reportedly stole aluminum goods worth lakhs of rupees kept inside the factory by loading them in a vehicle.

After the miscreants left at about 5 AM, the security personnel somehow freed themselves and informed their field officer Anurag. The police were also informed about the incident shortly later following which the police team reached the scene of the crime. Superintendent of police (Crime) Rekha Yadav and circle officer (Sadar) Bahadur Singh Chauhan also inspected the factory. Yadav said that the search for the miscreants has been started after registering a case. Meanwhile, the SSP said that the case will be solved and the accused will be nabbed soon.
