Paltan Bazar businessmen resent delays in DSCL works

Resenting delay in the completion of construction works being done as part of Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL), Paltan Market businessmen have threatened to stage to widespread protest shortly.

On Thursday, some representatives of Doon Valley Mahanagar Udyog Vyapar Mandal (DVMUVM), who have their shops at the Paltan Market met the officials from DSCL and expressed their concern over delays in the completion of smart city construction works. “We met the DSCL officials in Paltan Market and showed them the miserable conditions of the roads. We showed them how sewage is flowing on the roads and accumulating in front of the shops.

We also made them aware of the broken water pipelines due to which, the whole market area is filled with sludge,” said Sunil Masson, an office bearer of DVMUVM. He asserted that the business of the shopkeepers has already suffered due to the Covid-19 pandemic and now owing to such construction projects, the customers are not visiting Paltan market. “The work is going on for months and if the DSCL would still fail to finish this work soon, all the businessmen will shut down their shops and protest against the DSCL management,” asserted Masson.
