Prem Chand stresses on speedy completion of houses under PM Awas Yojana

In Dehradun latest news, the State minister for urban development and housing Prem Chand Agarwal expressed satisfaction over the completion of the housing projects under PM Awas Yojana whose construction had started in 2017-18. The minister held a review meeting with the departmental officers concerned and took stock of the progress of 16 projects under PM Awas Yojana.

Lauding the efforts of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on this matter, Agarwal said that things are now moving apace and the impediments being faced by the housing ministry in the implementation of this scheme are being removed on a war footing. He further said that at the CM’s initiative, works on 16 projects involving construction of 14200 houses has started in the right earnest. This aside, MDDA has been working on construction of 240 houses while Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority has been working on the construction of 525 houses. Besides, in Udham Singh Nagar, 1872 houses are being built under the aegis of the district development authority.

The minister directed the officials to ensure that construction of these houses is completed by September 2024 and handed over to the beneficiaries. He also stressed on the beneficiaries being handed over the houses which are ready to be handed over.
