The police on Thursday arrested a 19-year-old young man from Haryana on charges of allegedly kidnapping a minor. The girl lived in Dehradun’s Rajpur area with her family. The officials said that the girl’s mother registered a complaint at Rajpur police station on March 3 against an unknown person claiming that a man lured her minor daughter to flee with him. She stated that the man allegedly had wrong intentions towards her daughter and expressed fear for her safety. Considering this, the Dehradun senior superintendent of police formed teams to investigate the matter.

The police believed him to be the prime accused in the case and started searching for him. They informed that a police team was sent to Gurugram to look for the accused who was arrested there from the Ashok Vihar area on Thursday. The police also found the girl in a safe condition. The police brought the accused and the girl to Dehradun on Thursday. The police have handed over the girl to her family after completing the necessary procedure.
