Covid-19; 20 new cases, 28 recoveries in U’khand

The state health department reported only 24 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 23 recoveries from the disease on Saturday. No death from the disease was reported on the day in the state. The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,43,211 while a total of 3,29,438 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state, 7389 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 95.99 while the sample positivity rate on Saturday was 0.13 per cent.

The state health department reported eight new patients of Covid -19 from Uttarkashi, six from Champawat, five from Dehradun, four from Pithoragarh and one Bageshwar on Saturday. No new cases of the disease were reported from the Almora, Chamoli, Haridwar, Nainital, Pauri, Tehri, Rudraprayag and Udham Singh Nagar districts on the day. The state now has 320 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 155 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 28 active cases. Tehri district has only one active case of the disease.

In the ongoing vaccination drive 68,661 people were vaccinated in 1048 sessions in the state held on Saturday. As per the data of the state health department 69,88,728 people in the state have received the first dose of vaccine while 23,40,826 have received both doses of the vaccine.
