MCD collects over Rs two lakhs within a week

By imposing penalties on those who use public roads as storing space for the construction materials, the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has collected the revenue of over Rs two lakhs within one week.

On the instructions of the municipal commissioner, Vinay Shankar Pandey, the land section of the corporation started inspecting various areas of the city on February 11 and so far, they have penalised around 35 locals collecting about Rs 2,08,500. Moreover, the corporation has also seized more than 12 tractor trolleys of concrete like sand and bricks among others. According to Pandey, those who use public roads to store such concrete materials cause traffic and sometimes accidents too and to prevent it, the corporation will continue such inspection and impose penalties on the culprits too.
