The Forest Research Institute (FRI) celebrated Van Mahotsav on campus and at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Indian Military Academy on Thursday and Friday.
As the chief guest on Friday, the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) director general and FRI director Arun Singh Rawat planted a sapling of Putranjeeva. He spoke about the importance of Van Mahotsav and highlighted the significant innovations of the institute in the field of forestry.
Rawat said that FRI could help in establishing nurseries in few KVs through its available expertise which could then be maintained by children as these would go a long way in creating the children and environment connect in KVs to educate the students about forestry and other related aspects.
