The all-India IPSC 2023 Taekwondo Championship began at the Birla Vidya Mandir here on Monday. Former Olympian Rajendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the championship. Teams from a number of public schools from across the country are participating in the championship.
Speaking on the occasion, Rawat said that national level competitions are also important as they help in nurturing international-level talent. The competition is being held in the under-14, under-17 and under-19 categories. A total of 40 bouts were held on the first day. The finals will be played on Tuesday.
The school principal Anil Sharma welcomed the participants and guests while also appealing to the participants to compete with the spirit of sportsmanship.
