Work underway to complete most Smart City works before global investors summit

Sixteen out of the total 22 Smart City project works have been completed in Dehradun while about 70 per cent of the remaining six works has been completed. Works are being undertaken on a war footing to ensure their completion before the global investors summit to be held next month in Dehradun. Officials stated this in the 24th city advisory forum meeting held here on Wednesday. The meeting was held in the presence of Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ and Rajpur Road MLA Khajan Das, among others.

Dehradun Smart City Limited additional CEO Shyam Singh Rana said that more than 70 per cent of the remaining Smart City works has been completed in the city. Work on the smart road project is underway at a swift pace to enable its completion on time. The members of the forum expressed satisfaction at the works while also directing that special focus should be laid on completion of the works underway on the Haridwar Road. The Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited was directed to undertake all necessary efforts at its level for undergrounding of electricity cables so that the public can benefit soon from the project.

The DSCL CEO Sonika said that work is underway on a war footing to ensure completion of the smart road project in time for the global investors summit to be held in Dehradun during December. 

The MLA and the mayor said that the works remaining under the outfall drainage and sewerage projects should be undertaken on a war footing after the investors summit and completed swiftly. They also expressed satisfaction at the Smart City project works completed in the city so far. The DSCL officials were also directed to ensure that the meeting of the city advisory forum is held timely.
