Heavy to very heavy rain alert for 5 districts today

The State meteorological centre has issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at a few places with very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital and Champawat districts on Tuesday. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in districts of Uttarakhand today. According to the State meteorological centre director Bikram Singh, heavy rain is likely in parts of the State on Tuesday and Wednesday after which the activity is expected to subside a little.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with heavy to very heavy rainfall/thundershowers likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively today in Dehradun. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 34.2 degrees Celsius and 23.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.8 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.2 degrees Celsius and 18.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
