Heavy rainfall likely in three districts today

Heavy rainfall is likely in parts of three districts today. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Chamoli, Bageshwar and Dehradun districts on Saturday. Further, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and intense showers are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in the districts.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness partly to generally cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 29 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Friday were 31.5 degrees Celsius and 24.9 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.6 degrees Celsius and 26.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.5 degrees Celsius and 16.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.2 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. There was 86.5 millimetres rain in Narendranagar, 52.5 millimetres each in Haldwani and Nainital, 97.5 millimetres at Sahastradhara near Dehradun35 millimetres at Lohaghat and 42 millimetres in Dewal.
