Health minister meets IMA officials and Pvt hospital representatives

Says that the problems faced by card holders and hospitals in AAUY would be solved

Coming to the action mode immediately after assuming the charge of the department, the new health minister Dhan Singh Rawat held a brainstorming session with the Private hospital administrators and officials of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Wednesday.  The focus of the meeting was on the probable third wave of the pandemic of Covid-19. The minister also sought inputs of the IMA and private hospitals in strengthening the state health services. He held detailed discussions on the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana (AAUY) and the problems faced by the hospitals in its implementation. He said that the practical problems faced by the golden card holders in the listed hospitals should be removed. The minister also talked with the health secretary Amit Singh Negi on phone and directed him to take steps in this direction. The minister was told in the meeting that the scheme does not cover the medical tests done prior to the diagnosis of the disease and the emergency care. The minister assured that soon a high level meeting of the officials would be convened to solve the problems of card holders and the hospitals.

The minister also discussed the situation of Covid 19 in the state and asked the IMA officials and the experts to give their valuable suggestions from time to time. The IMA said that the incidents of manhandling of doctors and staff members should be brought under control on which the minister assured that appropriate steps would be taken to ensure safety of doctors and medical professionals. The meeting was attended by the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Swami Ram Himalayan university Vijay Dhasmana, VC of Guru Ram Rai University U S Rawat, general secretary of IMA Uttarakhand Dr Ajay Khanna, the president of IMA  Dehradun chapter, Dr Amit Singh, treasurer of IMA Dr Sanjay Upreti, MD CMI hospital Dr Mahesh Kudiyal, Dr Vipul Kandwal, Dr Rahul Prasad and others.
