Police get remand of fake registry scam accused Kamal Virmani

The Dehradun police on Monday got judicial remand of the main accused in the fake land registry scam case – advocate Kamal Virmani in the case of the demolition of a property registered in Clement Town police station area. Besides him, the police have also got the judicial remand of the other five accused identified as Imran Ahmed, Ajay Chhetri, Rohitash Singh, Mahesh Chandra, Ajay Mohan Paliwal and Dalchand, as per the police. According to them, a case was registered at the police station on January 12, 2022 in which the complainant said that her property was vandalised by some men who also took several goods kept there. The investigation was conducted by officials of Haridwar district as per the orders of higher officials and during the investigation, the police found the forged property documents from 12 accused arrested in the case, as per the officials. However, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the fake registration scams found a connection between both cases and the alleged involvement of the main accused of the registration scam KP Singh along with Kamal Virmani, Imran Ahmed and others. The officials said that the police have got the remand regarding this case and will take further action accordingly.
