Says he has just quoted Rahul Gandhi

Giving his clarification on his controversial statement that the Congress leaders go to temples to tease women, the State in-charge of BJP Dushyant Gautam said that he was referring to a statement made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a few years ago. Gandhi had stated about seven years ago that those who go to temples tease women. Gautam said that he just quoted the statement in which Rahul Gandhi had described the temple goers as molesters of women. He said that the Congress should question the intention of their leader behind that statement and why does he go to temples despite making such a statement rather than lashing out at him for just quoting him. The BJP leader said that his statement was not his personal opinion against Congress leaders but just a comment on Gandhi’s statement and thinking. He said that he leads a Sanatana life and strongly believes that people go to temples with pure thoughts. Targeting Congress leaders, he said that it is meaningless to expect from those to have knowledge of the sanctity of a temple when they do not believe in Lord Ram or are not familiar with his place of birth and call Ram Setu just a part of fiction.
