Execution to be enhanced to meet border roads target

Focus will be laid on expediting the processing of all pending cases and enhanced execution of ongoing works to help achieve the targets of building roads along the northern borders of country on time and in mission mode This was decided in a meeting chaired by the Union minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, and Civil Aviation, General (retd) VK Singh to review ongoing road construction works under the purview of ADG Border Roads on Sunday. The meeting was held at the office of the Project Shivalik chief engineer at Laltappar in Rishikesh. 

The meeting began with discussion on the progress made so far in the execution of Char Dham project works among others being carried out under the MoRTH in Uttarakhand. The ADGBR (NW) Harendra Kumar informed the gathering about the present status of works as well as review of important works and the reasons for slow progress in some. The minister took a holistic view of both the progress and the bottlenecks for pending targets and suggested ways for enhancing the speed of execution.

The meeting concluded with a resolve to focus on speedy processing of all pending cases as well as commitment for enhanced execution of ongoing works to help achieve the targets along the northern borders of the country on time, in mission mode.

The review meeting was attended by the chief engineers of Border Roads – CE Shivalik and CE Hirak in person and CEs of Beacon, Sampark, Vijayak, Himank, Deepak projects through virtual link.
