DLSA to organise National Lok Adalat

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) of Dehradun is all set to organise National Lok Adalat on Saturday as per the directions of the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA).

The district judge and DLSA head, Pradeep Pant informed in a Press meeting in the civil court hall that Lok Adalats will be organised in all courts of the district on Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM and 17 benches have already been formed to settle the cases.

Informing about Lok Adalats, he said that it is a forum where cases that are pending in the courts or at the pre-litigation stage are tried to settle amicably. He said that the cases related to banks and debt recovery, motor accidents, electricity and water bills, land acquisitions and family disputes among others which can be settled through amicable settlements are entertained in Lok Adalats. He said that about 3,500 cases have already been referred to the benches and he appealed to the public to approach the courts to get their matter resolved through Lok Adalats.
