Care is being taken to consider all the aspects so that the result of the merger provides a major boost to tourism in the State.  Member of the committee formed by the government and KMVN managing director Vineet Tomar said that if all goes well and the two corporations are merged successfully, the result will be the interests of the State. This will help in further development of tourism in the State. The interests of the employees will be taken care of in the planned merger with aspects like promotion, seniority and salary related provisions expected to remain unchanged. He informed that at present the KMVN is facing a major shortage of staff as direct recruitments to the corporation have not been held since 1996. After the seventh pay commission the expenditure on salaries of regularised employees in KMVN increased from Rs2.75 crore to Rs three crore while in the GMVN it increased from Rs 3.75 crore to Rs 4.25 crore, he informed.
