File chargesheet within two months in women and child related cases: SSP

The Dehradun senior superintendent of police (SSP) Daleep Singh Kunwar has issued an order to all police station in-charges to file chargesheet in the court in the crimes against women and children within two months. The SSP conducted a monthly crime meet with gazetted officers and Station House Officers (SHOs) of the district on Sunday and issued various instructions. 

Kunwar directed the officials to file a chargesheet within two months in cases of  crimes related to women including sexual assault and children under POCSO. Strict action will be taken against the officials concerned for not filing the chargesheet in the stipulated time as per the order, added the SSP. He said that no case will be registered in land-related issues without proper investigation or the SSPs order. He said that drug addicts should be called to the police station twice a week for counselling while keeping an eye on them. People roaming around ATMs, banks and jewellery shops should also be monitored to prevent unwanted incidents and effective action should be taken against suspicious persons, said the SSP. He also awarded cash prizes to police station in-charges of Ranipokhri, Doiwala, Chakrata, Patelnagar and Premnagar for the efficient disposal of cases.
