COVID : Ten deaths, 2,490 new cases reported on Saturday

After the increase in the contagiousness of the Covid-19 pandemic in Uttarakhand the fatality of the disease is also persisting in the state. On Saturday the state health department reported the death of ten patients from the disease.  The department also found 2,490 new cases of the disease on the day.

The state health department has so far detected 72,917 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total 39,632 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 113 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. On Saturday 28,598 samples were sent to the laboratory for testing by the authorities. 

 The recovery percentage of the disease this year was at 54.35 per cent on Saturday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 8.87 per cent on the day.  

The authorities reported the death of four patients at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun while three patients died at the Himalayan hospital Jollygrant. Death of one patient each was reported from Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital, Max hospital Dehradun and Vivekanand hospital Nainital on Saturday.

 The health department reported 1,005 new patients from Dehradun, 241 from Haridwar, 222 from Nainital, 186 from Rudraprayag, 134 from Pithoragarh, 127 from Almora, 125 from Pauri, 118 from Chamoli, 108 from Udham Singh Nagar, 93 from Bageshwar, 79 from Tehri, 32 from Uttarkashi and 20 from Champawat on Saturday. 

The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 30,985. Dehradun with 15,473 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has 3,678 active cases of the disease which is followed by Nainital district with 3,031 active cases. Uttarkashi is at the bottom of the table with 262 active cases of the disease.  In the ongoing vaccination drive 1,02,640 people were vaccinated in 1486 sessions in the state held on Saturday.
