Pritam Singh accuses Balkrishna of trying to give the episode a communal colour

Terming the statements of Baba Ramdev on allopathy as unfortunate, derogatory and demoralising for the doctors the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has said action under Epidemic Diseases Act should be taken against Ramdev. In a statement Singh said that the state government should take immediate cognisance of the statements of Ramdev. He said that Ramdev has insulted all the doctors who are fighting dedicatedly against the pandemic of Covid 19. He said that it is unfortunate that Ramdev has also made sarcastic remarks on the doctors who have lost their lives due to Covid 19. “The government should take note that Ramdev has also raised questions on vaccination. Action under epidemic diseases act should be initiated against Ramdev and Balkrishna,’’ he quipped.

Taking strong objection to the statement of Balkrishna in which he blamed Christian missionaries for maligning Ayurveda, Pritam Singh said that he is now trying to give the episode a communal colour and his statements are divisive for the society. “When questions were asked on vaccination from the Prime Minister then cases were slapped against the workers. Now by which capacity and by virtue of which qualification is Ramdev asking questions from doctors,’’ he questioned.

The PCC president said that Ramdev has crossed all limits by stating that ‘Kisi ka bap mujhe giraftar nahi kar sakta’ ( No one can arrest me). He claimed that the silence of the government and ruling party on the whole issue proves that Ramdev is getting their support.
