Arya stresses on amendments in schemes to benefit common people

In Dehradun news today, the State women empowerment and child development minister Rekha Arya reviewed the progress of the ongoing schemes of her department and collected information about the upcoming schemes at a meeting held in Dehradun. She stressed on amendments being made in the schemes run by her department so that full benefits reach out to the common people.

She said that the children covered by PM Care Scheme are also covered by Vatsalya Scheme. Taking a serious view of the less number of children being covered by the scheme in Udham Singh Nagar district, she directed the district programme officer to ensure that more children are covered under the scholarship scheme so as to enable them to take advantage of the financial assistance available under the schemes.

Arya said that as the department does not have any separate arrangement to take care of the mentally challenged children, proposals should be made for constructing buildings to house such children in Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts.

The departmental officers sought the minister’s guidance on the required amendment or order regarding the vagrant women and children addicted to drugs. The minister assured that the orders in these matters would be issued soon.
