Char Dham Yatra : U’khand police starts training programme for Tourism Police

Uttarakhand Police has started a six-day training programme for Tourism Police at the Police Line in Dehradun in view of the ensuing Char Dham Yatra. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) V Murugeshan on Monday while the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and SSP of Dehradun Janmejaya Khanduri was also among the special guests. A total of 100 sub-inspectors (SI) and constables from different districts of Garhwal division have arrived to participate in this training programme for tourism police. Murugeshan said that the purpose of this programme is to train the tourism police personnel to behave and communicate well with tourists and discharge their duties efficiently during Char Dham Yatra. The expert officials from various departments and institutes have been invited to offer training to the police personnel. The officials from the tourism department have been invited to train the trainees in rafting, paragliding and Char Dham Yatra among others. Similarly, the officials from forest department, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and trainers from an institute have been invited to train officials in jungle safari training, disaster relief and rescue operations and personality development training respectively in the programme. Many senior and experienced officers have also been invited to train the trainees in the six-day programme.
