Beneficiaries born after NGY portal launch need to apply online: Arya

The State women empowerment and child development minister Rekha Arya said on Wednesday after a review meeting of her department that the parents of the eligible girl children born before the launch of the Nanda Gaura Yojna (NGY) Portal on October 22 will have to apply offline to avail benefits under the scheme while those born after the launch are to apply online.

Moreover, Arya instructed the district programme officials to submit a proposal by November 15 regarding women’s empowerment, self-employment for women, assistance for single women, ensuring women’s safety and financial support for children orphaned in disasters and orphaned due to accidents. She stressed on raising awareness among the NGY beneficiaries about the application process.

The minister further said that economically disadvantaged women residing in the mountainous districts of the State who have been unable to build their houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or any other government housing scheme will be provided with fabricated structures that may serve as two-room accommodation.

This aside, the minister sought and obtained information from the department officers regarding the beneficiaries of the Vatsalya Yojana rolled out by the State government.
