Authorities found the body of a 25-year-old Delhi man from the Saryu River in Bageshwar district on Monday. The authorities had to call a team of expert divers of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) from Nainital after their failed attempt to search for the body on Sunday. The deceased Prince Pal had arrived in the district along with his friends to attend a friend’s wedding from Delhi, as per the officials. They said that he along with his friends went to bathe in the Saryu River on Sunday afternoon. According to the claims of his friends, Prince suddenly started drowning and disappeared from sight in the river, informed the officials. They said that the local police called the team of SDRF to the spot to conduct a search operation to find Prince. The SDRF along with district police, fire services and local divers conducted a search but he could not be spotted in the extremely deep river. Considering this, the police demanded a team of expert divers of SDRF who reached Bageshwar from Nainital on Monday led by sub-inspector Manish Bhakuni. The SDRF divers resumed the search on Monday morning and recovered the body from a depth of nearly 200 feet in the river and handed it over to the police. The police said that the body will be handed over to the deceased’s family soon after the completion of the necessary procedures.
