Ambedkar brought deprived sections of society in mainstream: CM

Paying rich tributes to BR Ambedkar on his 132th birth anniversary on Friday, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that he was instrumental in bringing the deprived sections of the society into the mainstream. He was addressing a programme organised on the birth anniversary of Ambedkar at government school, Narsing Danda in Champawat. He said Ambedkar raised an effective and strong voice against the caste system and its social evils. The people of the country would remain indebted to Ambedkar for drafting the constitution and laying the foundation of a modern India. His contributions in the social, legal and political realms are  also worth remembering. 

The CM said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, works are being done while keeping in mind every section of the society. He said that works such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Awas Yojana, Ujjawala scheme, Kisan Samman Nidhi and free ration to 80 crore people are being done under the leadership of Modi.

The CM said that PM Modi while speaking from Kedarnath had professed that the third decade of 21st century would belong to Uttarakhand and the State government is working at a fast pace in this direction. He said that the number of pilgrims arriving in the State for Char Dham Yatra and Kanwad Yatra witnessed a substantial increase last year and this year more pilgrims than last year are expected to arrive for Char Dham Yatra. He added that under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala mission, infrastructure development along with beautification of the temples of Kumaon region is being done and they would be linked in a circuit. Dhami said that soon Uttarakhand would become a leading State in every field and the Uttarakhand model would become a model for the country.  

The CM felicitated Narayani Devi on the occasion for providing employment to 40 women in Lohaghat growth centre. He also announced many new developmental projects and schemes for the area.

The district Panchayat president Jyoti Rai, block Pramukh Rekha Devi and others were present on the occasion.
