The State vice-president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Uma Sisodia and the party’s Garhwal media in-charge Ravindra Singh Anand visited the  village of the murder victim Ankita Bhandari on Wednesday and met the grieving family. The AAP leaders offered their condolences to family members and also expressed disappointment on observing the pathetic conditions prevailing in the village. Sisodia said that people of Uttarakhand are still compelled to live in remote villages without basic facilities like proper roads and transportation. She said that the governments here have failed to provide such basic facilities even after two decades of the formation of Uttarakhand. The party’s Garhwal media in-charge said that AAP has already offered to provide legal support to the family in the Ankita Bhandari muder case and will continue their protest against the state government till the culprits are brought to justice. They said that they will support the victim’s family at every step and would not let Ankita’s martyrdom go in vain.
