In latest news from Dehradun, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid floral tribute to the former Prime Minister and the BJP founder Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his official residence on his birth anniversary. After garlanding a portrait of the Bharat Ratna, the CM hailed Vajpayee as an astute administrator and a political leader and orator of towering stature whom people across the social spectrum adored. He further said that the late leader used to consider national interests as paramount, adding that he had played a pivotal role in Uttarakhand being carved out of erstwhile Uttar Pradesh as a separate State. More, he had laid the foundation for the development of the nascent State, Dhami said. Notably, the birth anniversary of the leader is being celebrated as good goverance day across the country.
