PCC chief to start four day Garhwal tour today

Tour of the PCC president is part of the state wide campaign of the party against corruption, price rise and stalled development: Dhasmana

The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Pritam Singh would start his extensive four day long tour of Garhwal region of the state from Monday. The PCC president would hold public meetings and interact with the Congress workers during the visit.

The Vice President of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana told media persons at the headquarters of Congress party here on Sunday that the tour of the PCC president is part of the state wide campaign of the party against corruption, price rise and stalled development. He said that during the last four year rule of Trivendra Singh Rawat government the corruption has prevailed everywhere, the unemployment has reached its peak, the development has stopped and the prices have skyrocketed. He informed that the Uttarakhand Congress has decided to launch a state-wide campaign against the policies of the state government. Informing about the campaign of the party, Dhasmana said that in the first phase, the PCC president is undertaking an extensive tour of the state. He said that in the second phase workers’ conclave would be organised on the issues of price rise, unemployment and corruption in all the districts. This would be followed by the state level programmes. Regarding the Garhwal tour of the PCC President, Dhasmana said that on 16 November, he would attend programmes at Kotdwar, Duggada, Gumkhal and Satpuli and he would hold a night stay at Pauri. On November 17, the PCC president would participate in a protest meeting at Pauri by the party workers and would meet the party workers at Srinagar. On the same day he would attend meetings with workers at Rudraprayag and Karnprayag. On November 18, he would meet party workers at Gopeshwar and would hold the night stay at Badrinath. Next day he would offer prayers at Badrinath temple in the morning and return back to Dehradun.

Dhasmana added that the people of the state are reeling under the BJP government and want to get rid of it and taking up the responsibility the Congress party would start a major agitation in the state.
