No new dengue cases reported in two days

No new dengue cases have been reported in the Dehradun district in two days, officials said on Wednesday. The Dehradun Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, stated that on Tuesday and Wednesday, no dengue-positive cases were reported, which indicates that there were no hospitalisations on those days. This brings the total number of confirmed dengue cases (ELISA-positive) to 45, including 26 patients from Dehradun and 19 from other districts or states.

Dr Sharma further informed that currently, there are eight patients hospitalised: six at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and two at Graphic Era Hospital. He added that 54 dengue samples were collected on Wednesday alone, contributing to an overall total of 3,008 samples collected to date. Notably, there have been no reported deaths due to dengue so far, he said.

Apart from this, on Wednesday, ASHAs and health department volunteers conducted a total of 18664 house surveys to check for mosquito larvae. Out of these surveys, 59 houses were found to have larvae. The department has conducted a total of 52379 house surveys so far, with 134 houses returning positive results for larvae.
