In latest Uttarakhand news, in the first instance of the violation of the strict ban imposed by Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) on taking photo by cameras or mobile phones inside Kedarnath shrine and making it viral on the social media, a Kedarnath pilgrim was caught taking photo of the renowned preacher Morari Bapu inside the shrine clandestinely and then circulating it on social media platforms. Taking a serious view of the violation of its ban, BKTC scrutinised the CC TV footages and identified the pilgrim as Laxminarayan Paneri from Indore Madhya Pradesh. The pilgrim said while being questioned as to why he had flouted the ban despite seeing the signboard bearing the order, he said he had been suddenly overwhelmed having seen the preacher and took the photo and circulated it on social media impulsively. Thereafter, he was asked to pay Rs 11,000 as special donation to the temple trust and he did the same.

Notably, BKTC had imposed the ban on taking photos and clicking videos inside the shrine premises in view of these being made viral on social media platforms with impunity, damaging the sanctity of the revered shrine.
